FAQ

Those who are looking for an answer to the question «Can 3 people stay in 2 person hotel room?» often ask the following questions:

❔ Can 4 people stay in a 3 person hotel room?

IF the terms of rental specify “max 2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child” or some such, they might “care” but probably won’t DO anything. Most rental terms are “maximum 4 people,” and they leave it at that. If FIVE people actually stay, 99% of the time no one will say a word unless you make excessive noise or such.

❔ Can 4 people stay in hotel room?

Things get a little complicated if you are booking hotel rooms for three or four people, but it is still fairly manageable, especially if you are traveling domestically. Most hotels in the United States will allow children under 18 to stay for free in a room with their parents and have occupancy that can support at least two adults and two children.

❔ Can people stay in your hotel room?

Hotels do allow visitors, but they are not allowed to stay the night. Most hotels need to know the actual headcount for essential reasons. First is, an accurate headcount is a must for safety reasons. It would mean a lot if you were honest with the number of people in your room in case a fire or another emergency happens.

the price of the room is usually for 2 people. additional persons can have an extra fee - but that depends on the hotel. We don't charge the fee per extra person beyond 2, but we don't allow 5 people in a room that sleeps 4 (unless one of those is a child sleeping in a pack and play. they don't count).

3 people in a 2 person room. We will be traveling to NYC on Mar. 3-Mar.9 and are planning to stay at the Jumeriah Essex on Mon. and Tue. night (8 and 9). I'm not sure if the 3rd person will actually make the trip. There is a lot of difference in the room availability and price from 2 people to 3 people per room.

No - you cannot do it; if found, they can choose to kick you out and at the very least tell you to either book another room if it is available, or the extra person will have to leave. Hotel staff keep a very sharp eye for just this sort of situation - they know who is supposed to be in the room and who isn't. Don't think for a second that they don't.

For example, your utility usage - water, sewer, electric, even wireless internet - is going to be much higher if you rent forty rooms with three or four people in each room, than it will be if you rent 55 rooms with one or two people in each room.

Answer 1 of 127: It is MUCH cheaper to say we only have 2 of us in a 2 bed room! Then have our other 2 friends come up and crash with us, while splitting it 4 ways! Also, will have them give us 4 keys, that way everyone has a key.

If the room is booked at a single rate it is for one person - and one person should occupy it. If you sneak in a second person without paying the double rate you have a coupel of problems:
